New Year’s Getaway

Last year was an eventful year, politically, culturally, economically and in my career. I got a promotion in August and today I am officially the president of the Metro DC ASTD Chapter (http.// If you know me, you will know that the titles aren’t as important to me as sharing, helping people, and learning.

In an effort to start the year off right, we took a little break today to come to Philadelphia. If I can’t get to New York, my favorite city to visit, then I like to come to Philadelphia. We stay at the Hyatt at Penn’s Landing when we stay. It is a nice location, a little far from things if you are walking. If you stay here, get a waterfront view room. The waterfront is not super glamorous but at night the view is beautiful. My picture does not do it justice.

We tried to go to a vegan restaurant, Mi Lah, for dinner but the Mummer’s parade had many streets closed. Well that long delay in traffic didn’t cause the issue, the closed restaurant caused a change in plans. Every store I wanted to visit was closed. But the Apple store was open and packed, that’s not where I was headed. No problem though, Whole Foods was the rest next best choice.

Tomorrow, I hope to make a stop at a tea shop and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Happy New Year. I hope this year brings you all that you desire that is right and good!
